Updates galore!

Both me and Baby Biggie as we call "it" are healthy and growing! We had our second Dr. appointment at 14 weeks and Dez got to come along this time. We did see the baby (the picture wasn't worth posting as all you can is the big head and a spine the way it was positioned) and heard the heart beat for the first time! I looked over at Dez and I could tell he was excited by the gloss over his eyes. He tried to man up, but I saw right through him! Next month we get to find out if its a boy or girl.

I'm so grateful to be in good health and feeling pretty awesome considering the double time my body is working from the inside out. I've had no morning sickness or symptoms beyond the hyper smell, and some tiredness.  I've started working for the Operating Engineers J.A.C. which is the office for apprentice programs and classes for the construction union.  Besides one of the key players in the office leaving for maternity leave (whose spot I took) there are 2 other new people replacing critical office players who left or were transferred within the last month. Under a new boss, with changes on multiple levels from structure to staff, it's always interesting.  One thing I struggle with is understanding people when they have thick local accents or speak pidgin to me on the phone( everyone else I work with was born and raised in Hawaii). I'll be fluent in pidgin after this job I think. =)

Speaking of the Union.... Dez got pulled in a lottery for the International Longshore and Warehouse Union to be a stevedore(ILWU)....IN WASHINGTON.  Out of 14,000 names Dez was the 800th of the 2,100 selected.  So within the year (probably sometime after the baby is born) we will be packing up and starting over in the Seattle area.  Dez will stay in school until it's time to go.  We're both excited and a little nervous to see how this all pans out but we hope the future is bright! Once your in, put in your hours and work your way up I hear it's a pretty solid job.

Dez decided his new hobby is photography and invested in a legit camera, so look for lots of photos coming up!
