May DAY- MAY DAY

25 weeks
Happy May Day!
I'd been wanting this for the longest time and finally saw it at Ross! It's a silicone cake mold to make a giant cupcake. Now all I need is for a cake mix to go on sale to try it out!

Not a whole lot to say right now but I know once I post everything will come to mind that I wanted to say. Until then....

24 weeks and 4 Days

People always ask me how I am doing, and I realized that I always seem to find something negative to say when really I'M PERFECTLY FINE.  I hate that I reinforce the pregnancy stereotypes that really don't phase me day to day. Yeah life a is a little more uncomfortable when sleeping or bending, I'm always hungry and I'm a little slow to rise, but I really have nothing to complain about honestly. Our bed was never really comfortable and I was never super flexible.  I always liked to eat a lot (hence my nickname Snax) and random food at that...  it's just more accepted and encouraged at this point in my life.  I threw up ONCE and was more sick when I was on birth control than I am now.   I love going to bed early and waking up to the kicking and growling of my tummy.  I've been either walking or doing my mama yoga almost everyday and I even better about wearing my seat belt in the car!! I do miss participating in certain activities like surfing and play fighting and stuff, but I'll be back in action in a few months.  Basically I've been blessed tremendously and need to start acknowledging that when people ask me how I'm doing.

Catch Up

I never posted these when I first got them, and as a result I lost the 2nd one that we got. So here is 1,3,4 of ultra sounds. Don't hate, we all looked like this at one point in our lives.

I've been debating if I should do the high tech 3D ultra sound.... All babies look pretty similar in my opinion, but will I regret it if I don't drive the extra hour and maybe pay some extra money to be able to see our baby just a few months earlier?

GAME ON!

After another Dr appointment in April, it has been confirmed that Baby Biggie is a GIRL! So naturally I bought her some shoes on the way home. I've been holding off as long as I could because I know the damage I can do with shoes (having owned over 80 pairs of sneakers at one point). Now that I bought the first pair, let the games begin!

I wish I was better documenting my bump but here's a picture from a few weeks ago. I, I mean WE are growing daily it seems like.  We love watching her move and cruise inside of me and offset my belly button. I'm so grateful how well this pregnancy has been going so far. I don't know what it's suppose to be like, if there is such a thing, but I'm very blessed for the health and energy I've been able to maintain the past 5 and a half months despite the colossal changes my body going through.

Traditions are HARD!

One thing I never gave too much thought was what family traditions I would try and carry on with my own growing family.  Holidays seem to sneak up on me and then the day of I'm frantic to find or make something somewhat resembling my own family traditions.  It's been much easier to just adapt what Dez's family usually does because they are all right here and we're invited to do whatever they're doing.

This beautiful Easter morning I woke up realizing I had nothing special prepped or even planned for the day! So I grabbed what few eggs we had and forced Dez to decorate at least one. He has never carved a pumpkin (which I will insist on this year) or dyed and easter egg!  After boiling, cooling, coloring, dipping, and dunking dunking they were complete! Only to be de-shelled, smashed and eaten in one egg sandwich session less than 5 minutes later.... Oh well, at least I hadn't grown attached to any of the decorations I'd done (or the lack there of).  I just left plenty room to improve for next year!

Hopefully with time we can establish our families traditions with a nice mixture from both our sides of the family. We'll see what sticks!

Updates galore!

Both me and Baby Biggie as we call "it" are healthy and growing! We had our second Dr. appointment at 14 weeks and Dez got to come along this time. We did see the baby (the picture wasn't worth posting as all you can is the big head and a spine the way it was positioned) and heard the heart beat for the first time! I looked over at Dez and I could tell he was excited by the gloss over his eyes. He tried to man up, but I saw right through him! Next month we get to find out if its a boy or girl.

I'm so grateful to be in good health and feeling pretty awesome considering the double time my body is working from the inside out. I've had no morning sickness or symptoms beyond the hyper smell, and some tiredness.  I've started working for the Operating Engineers J.A.C. which is the office for apprentice programs and classes for the construction union.  Besides one of the key players in the office leaving for maternity leave (whose spot I took) there are 2 other new people replacing critical office players who left or were transferred within the last month. Under a new boss, with changes on multiple levels from structure to staff, it's always interesting.  One thing I struggle with is understanding people when they have thick local accents or speak pidgin to me on the phone( everyone else I work with was born and raised in Hawaii). I'll be fluent in pidgin after this job I think. =)

Speaking of the Union.... Dez got pulled in a lottery for the International Longshore and Warehouse Union to be a stevedore(ILWU)....IN WASHINGTON.  Out of 14,000 names Dez was the 800th of the 2,100 selected.  So within the year (probably sometime after the baby is born) we will be packing up and starting over in the Seattle area.  Dez will stay in school until it's time to go.  We're both excited and a little nervous to see how this all pans out but we hope the future is bright! Once your in, put in your hours and work your way up I hear it's a pretty solid job.

Dez decided his new hobby is photography and invested in a legit camera, so look for lots of photos coming up!
